Claude Now Controls Your Mac Remotely From Your Phone

Anthropic's Dispatch feature links Claude mobile to Claude Desktop, letting your phone delegate full computer-use tasks to your Mac.

Claude Now Controls Your Mac Remotely From Your Phone

Dispatch is Anthropic's new bridge between your phone and your Mac. Send a task from the Claude mobile app, and Claude Desktop handles it — first attempting service connectors like Slack or Google Calendar, then falling back to direct computer use: controlling your browser, mouse, keyboard, and screen.

Launched today as a research preview, it's available on Claude Pro ($20/mo) and Claude Max ($100/mo), macOS only for now with Windows planned. Your desktop needs to stay awake and running Claude Desktop — the phone is purely a lightweight command surface, local files never leave your machine.

Practical uses: export a pitch deck and attach it to a calendar invite, spin up a dev server and grab screenshots, batch-watermark photos — all while you're away from your desk. Anthropic flags that computer use is "still early" and recommends against granting access to financial, legal, or medical apps.

Why it matters: your desktop just became an always-on agentic task runner, triggered from your pocket — a meaningful step toward ambient AI that works while you don't.
