AI 'comedian' with 375K followers clones real comics' sets

An AI Instagram persona copied comedian George Brett Olson's joke, outfit and backdrop to funnel fans to OnlyFans, and Instagram says a ban isn't practical.

AI 'comedian' with 375K followers clones real comics' sets

Comedian George Brett Olson found an AI-generated woman doing his stand-up bit. The account, Tiffany Sloane (@tiffany.bbyx), copied his joke, his movements and even the colour of his outfit. Olson's take: it's "one of the most ironic things that's ever happened", because the stolen gag is literally about AI stealing jobs.

Olson isn't the only target. The account had about 375,000 followers in early October, and its bio links to an OnlyFans page. Wired identified eight comedians whose videos were cloned by AI content-theft operations. One of them is Julia Jasunas, whose routine turned up on another AI persona, Aylen Skye. Reporting the accounts did little, because copying someone's material doesn't break Meta's rules the way impersonation does.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri told Olson he doesn't think it's "practical for us to try and ban AI content from the platform". Meta had not acted on the accounts.

Why it matters: AI can now clone a creator's whole performance, not just their words, and platform rules on originality haven't caught up.
