Claude Can Now Control Your Mac Autonomously
Anthropic launched a computer use research preview in Claude Code and Cowork — Claude browses, codes, and submits PRs on your behalf.

Claude can now take the wheel on your Mac. Anthropic's research preview, live in Claude Code and Claude Cowork (macOS only), lets the model open files, navigate browsers, run dev tools, make code edits, and submit pull requests — all without you touching a keyboard.
Available to Pro and Max subscribers, it pairs with Dispatch (Anthropic's mobile companion), so you can fire off tasks from your iPhone and check back later. Claude prioritizes native connectors like Google Workspace or Slack first; falls back to raw screen control when no integration exists. Every new app requires your explicit permission, and you can halt it anytime.
Anthropic is candid about the rough edges: computer use is slower and more error-prone than text or code tasks, and the preview is vulnerable to prompt injection. Windows support is planned but not dated.
Why it matters: this is agentic AI moving from demos to your actual desktop — the race to replace clicks with Claude is now in your hands.
