Epic's AI MegaJam: vibe-code a game, win up to $50K
Epic's Nov 12–15 AI MegaJam gives $65K in cash prizes plus grants of up to $50K per team for games built with AI agents.
Epic Games is paying people to vibe code games. The 2026 Epic AI MegaJam runs Nov 12–15. Solo devs and teams of up to five build a playable game in Unreal Engine or UEFN (Fortnite's creator tool). The number of AI agents is unlimited, and coding agents, asset generation and audio tools are all allowed. Entry is online, or in person at Digital Jungle in San Francisco on Nov 14–15.
The headline $50,000 isn't a single prize. The jam has $65,000 in cash prizes: $7,500 / $5,000 / $2,500 for the main categories (Best Overall UE, Best Overall UEFN, Best Student Project), plus smaller modifier awards. Separately, Development Continuation Grants of up to $50,000 per team ($50K / $25K / $10K per engine) go to standout entries so they can keep building. Winners are announced by Jan 29, 2027.
It fits Epic's wider AI push. The company recently said it vibe coded its new launcher, and Bloomberg reported that developers on one of its shooters were told to go "AI first". Critics already call the jam a reward for AI "slop".
Why it matters: a major engine maker is now funding AI-agent-built games, which shows how mainstream vibe coding has become in game development.
