Google Merges NotebookLM Into Gemini — One Interface, Both Tools

NotebookLM is now inside the Gemini UI — add sources once, access them in both apps with full bidirectional sync.

Google Merges NotebookLM Into Gemini — One Interface, Both Tools

Google just collapsed two of its most powerful AI tools into one experience. Notebooks in Gemini lets you save chats, attach files, and give Gemini persistent context — and everything syncs automatically with NotebookLM. Sources added in Gemini show up in NotebookLM, and vice versa.

The integration supports up to 300 sources per notebook. You still get NotebookLM-exclusive features — Video Overviews, Infographics, Audio Overviews — even if you started the notebook inside Gemini. It's the same data, two specialized lenses.

Rollout begins today on the web for Google AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus subscribers. Free users and mobile access follow in the coming weeks, along with broader European availability.

Why it matters: Google is turning Gemini into a persistent workspace, not just a chatbox — and NotebookLM's research depth is the anchor that makes it sticky.
