OpenAI's GPT-6 lands on Google Cloud, next to Gemini and Claude
GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna are in Google Cloud's Model Garden, in private preview for select enterprise customers.

Google Cloud now sells OpenAI models. GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna are in Model Garden, which puts all three big closed-model labs on one platform. Google says it is "the only hyperscale cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed source LLMs".
The lineup has three tiers. Astra handles the hardest coding, computer-use and research work. Sol gets close to Astra at a lower price. Luna is the fast, cheap option for high-volume tasks. For now it is a private preview for select enterprise customers, who sign up through an interest form. Google has not given a date for general availability. Developers can also point their local Codex CLI and Desktop workflows at Google's platform for inference.
The bigger draw is billing. OpenAI usage is sold through Google Cloud Marketplace and appears on the same invoice as Gemini and Claude. It also draws down existing cloud commitments, so customers need no separate OpenAI contract. Google says prompts and outputs stay inside the customer's data perimeter and are not used for training.
Why it matters: Microsoft no longer has OpenAI to itself, and the clouds now compete on how easily you can buy every model, not on which model they have.
