Slack Code turns vibe coding into a team sport

Slack now lets you tag Claude Code or Devin into a channel — the agent spins up a project channel where the whole team reviews and approves.

Slack Code shipped today, and the pitch is simple: agentic coding stops being a solo terminal session. Tag a coding agent into a conversation and it spins up a project-specific code channel — everyone in there watches the same thread, audits the diffs, gets live HTML previews, leaves feedback the agent folds in, and signs off before anything ships. Channels auto-archive when the work is done and keep an audit log.

Four founding partners at launch: Claude Code (Anthropic), Devin (Cognition), the Vercel agent, and GitHub Copilot. It's on every Slack plan, free workspaces included, from day one — not gated behind an enterprise tier, which is the aggressive part.

This didn't come out of nowhere. Slack shipped its MCP server in February and the Slackbot MCP Client in June; code channels are the payoff for a year of agent plumbing. The code-channel APIs open to the wider developer community later, so the four partners are a starting roster, not the whole thing.

Why it matters: the bottleneck in agentic coding was never generation — it was review, and Slack just moved that into the room where the team already lives.
